500 Vegan Recipes
Monday, January 18, 2010 at 8:58AM
When I received 500 Vegan Recipes in the mail I had no doubt about what I would find inside. If you've ever visited Celine or Jodi's blogs, then you know they make some delicious recipes. Not only did this cook book meet my expectations, but it far exceeded them. There is a recipe for every breakfast, lunch, snack, appetizer, dip, dressing, dessert, and drink that you would ever need. This book covers it all. Which isn't surprising considering the fact that there is 500 recipes included! This is not a cook book that's only intended for exceptional chefs. Nor is it full of only 10 Minute or Less Meals. This is a wonderful basic cookbook that anyone can start out with or continue to expand their culinary skills with.

What I also love about this all-inclusive cookbook is that there isn't a lot of fluff. You don't find page after page wasted with cutsie pictures of the authors having a fun time together or posing for glamour shots. 500 Vegan Recipes is filled with 500 vegan recipes and a few amazing resources and that's it. No fluff. No need for fluff. The tried and true recipes are all you need. Check out the 500 Vegan Recipes blog for more info and pics of the recipes if you're interested.

Oh! Awesome!! I want this cook book because I'm a new vegan - tomorrow is my 3-month vegaversary! - and I still need help making meals. I'm pretty good at making random lunch-worthy eats, but real meals are still a challenge, and this book would help me a lot! Also, my husband is still an animal-eater, and I think this book would help me make meatless meals he'd be satisfied with! Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi HeVe!
I would love this book for many reasons, but I recently moved into my very own apt in NYC (aka im broke ;)) and I've been really getting into cooking on my home. I have been a vegetarian for over 10 years and transitioned to complete veganism about a year ago. This would be a jumpstart into my cooking adventures!
A cookbook without fluff? Now that's for me. I would love to have more information on how to prepare my veggies since I will be expanding my gardening space from 4 beds to 11 this years in an effort to grow most of what I eat.
I recently went vegan after being vegetarian for 7 years. Now I'm looking to expand my vegan repertoire in the kitchen. Having 500 Vegan Recipes at hand to would really help with that!
I recently went vegan after being vegetarian most of my life. Now I'm working on building up my vegan cookbook collection, and trying to find some great recipes to convince my husband and son to make the switch, too! This cookbook definitely sounds like it would be a help.
I used to be a solid vegan till my first pregnancy. That was 6 years ago, I am currently a vegetarian and I want to go back to being a vegan. It doesn't help that I can't cook. I believe a cookbook will help me improve my cooking skills and be creative for my family to try something new as they are meat-eaters.
I'm exploring vegan lifestyles and this cookbook would be such a great resource. I'm still in school and recently out of the house so cooking is still new to me and I would love for this book to cultivate my skills!
I've been vegan for ten years, but my mom is new and has forced me to admit that I'm not a very good cook! This would be a great book for she and I to share and pick up some tricks from. Thank you!
Would love to own this book!! Thanks for doing the giveaway!
It is hard to find "good' vegan recipes and I am tired of the ones that I have- that I like and that my husband likes. I would love to win the cook book and see what is there that I don't know about!
I would like this book. I have been a vegan for close to 3 month and I enjoy it! I need more inspiration with cookbooks and this would be great! Thanks!
I love finding cookbook recommendations from blogs. I love seeing people cook the dishes, but I like to return to the source for the recipes themselves. This basic, but not dumbed-down, cookbook sounds like something I would really enjoy.
I would love it because my boyfriend and I (who are vegetarians) are trying to become more conscious of our eating habits and I'm trying to see if veganism is the right thing for me. This would certainly cut down on my time searching for vegan recipes on blogs!
I've had "Have Cake, Will Travel" bookmarked for two laptop lifetimes- I love Celine's photography, and I love her recipes! The bookstore that I work for ordered this recently, at my urging- and I paged through longingly before putting it on the shelf with our other cookbooks. As a vegan in a very non-vegan household, having easy access to some really pleasing dishes could help me impress my roommates and maybe stay the purchase of raw chicken for a while... plus, having a copy of 500 Vegan Recipes means that someone else gets to buy the one from work!
I would love 500 Vegan Recipes because I am a college student barely surviving on standard dining hall food. Since I became vegan a couple of months ago, I decided it would be best to start cooking my own fresh vegan food in the kitchen. Everyone always stops by the kitchen and wants to know what I am cooking and why it smells so good! I have heard amazing things about 500 Vegan Recipes and I know it would instantly become my go-to cookbook!
I would love a copy of this book. I have always been a fan of Celine's recipes and photos. I was able to try out one of the recipes on Joni's blog that appears in the book and it was amazing. I can't wait to try more.
Great giveaway! I would LOVE to win a copy of this book as I eat mostly-vegan and am always on the lookout for new recipes to enhance my nutrition plan and share the food I make with other people... I like spreading the awareness about the goodness of veganism. What better way to do that than to cook for them!
I would love it because I want to give it to someone else (but am not willing ot give up my own copy!). She would get a lot of use out of it and I can't afford to buy her a copy. Veganism to the people in the rural community where she lives is some sort of strange disease, but she is working to open people's eyes.
I'd love to win the book because, hello, it's 500 vegan recipes! Who doesn't want 500 new recipes?! Seriously though, I'm in a cooking rut and could use the inspiration. :)
I'm in school right now and after being vegetarian for a year I want to make the full commitment and go vegan! Unfortunately I'm having a lot of difficulty finding good recipes and I think this would help a lot!
I'd like a copy because I've been a veggie for almost a year, and I keep on finding new recipes all the time to make a more diverse diet. I think this 500 recipes would be awesome for me and to offer great meals to friends and family.
I would LOVE to get my hands on this amazing book! But do I give it away as the amazing present it would undoubtedly be...or do I keep it for myself :)
I would love to have this book. My family has been vegan for just a few months and it would be a wonderful resource in our journey. Thank you!
Who wouldn't want to win a collection of 500 vegan recipes?! I'm itching for this book!
i would love this recipe book! my roomie and i are vegan and always scouring the internet for new recipes (and we love your sites!). cooking and eating are two of my favorite things =]
Who wouldn't want a cookbook written by Celine and Joni? They have really innovative and above all consistent recipes that taste awesome and look gorgeous. I want this book because both of their blogs make me oh so happy :)
I'm a vegetarian who has been going vegan every February for a few years and maybe this time it will stick. It looks like a great book!
I'd love to win this book to share with some non-vegan, but vegan friendly, peeps who i know would love it!
I would love to win this so I can continue to serve amazing vegan food to my non-vegan friends to show them how awesome it can be!
I've heard that this cookbook is fantastic!! I would love to add it to my collection of vegan cookbooks!!
I would love this cookbook, because I feel like I'm in a bit of a cooking rut, and could use 500 new recipes to help fix that!
I have the book and LOVE it, but would love a copy to gift to a loved one. thanks! :)
Why? Hmm Im sure there are a lot of folks on here who deserve the book too.
Me cause my cholesterol is 576 (I didnt know it could go that high!) and my Triglycerides are Super high!(My doctor asked me if I was eating pure grease or butter...) and I have diabetes.
My Doctor called me a walking stroke/heart attack ready to blow..
I had no choice but to go on a veg diet..And while its hard for me to do (Spices and such Ive always been confused about) Ive managed somewhat..And I see it as a better step for me..If I can figure out what to cook..How to cook it and all. The web helps but what has helped the most have been cook books. I got a few from some people who heard about me..about 4..
Its helped a lot but Ive been perusing the books online and drooling over them since I cant afford em..(My health has made me disabled so I receive social security) Thats not much and at times Ive had to make some very tough decisions on money matters! Cook books dont fit that equation...Ive had trouble from food pantries..(The stuff they give out!!) Some is healthy but most is not so I usually end up with a quarter of the food as the rest is too unhealthy for me to use..(They wont allow me to trade..Youd think someone else would prefer more of the junk stuff and trade it for beans, flours and vegetables..) So I make do..I even was able to get a few recipes from the site for this book. It looks like recipes I could use and enjoy (They have a hot dog recipe! Which I was able to get off their site..Imagine that..I can have a hot dog now..)I cant afford the ives and other stuff..Food pantry, 99 cent store, dollar stores..thats me.. I can prove the social security thing but unless you want to talk to my doctor(Well I can always scan the lipitor prescription bottle,LOL) But you know what..Book or no book im going to keep trying no matter how many times I set off the smoke detector...One thing I discovered is that I cant stand meat anymore! Ive only been at this 5 months and now meat tastes gamy to me...So I cant go back and dont want to..
Im enjoying discovering things from the veg sites and all the friendly people..So I see it as a good thing...Cause im eating (AND ENJOYING) things I didnt think I would and I no longer want the REAL meat.. The home made fake stuff is better and I find tastier..And cheaper..
Who ever gets the book..Enjoy it as from what ive seen its a great book!! If not me maybe the college student or the person whos only 3 months into a veg diet(Starting can be tough!)??
I'd love to win this book so I can make new recipes to share with coworkers at lunch to show them veganism is delicious and not difficult!
I would love to win this book! I don't have a facebook account, so hopefully my 1 entry is lucky :-) I want this book because I am obsessed with cookbooks and trying new recipes and I have heard SO many good things about it!
